okay im blogging once again.
cause, during assembly today, the principal spoke to the 4express, 5normal academic today .
and she showed us a video too, about a woman.
i forgot what's her name ?
i think it's susan boyle .
she's a singing sensation (:
mdm choy shared with us about how, at age 47, susan boyle was still determined to get what she wants in life, that is, to be a singer.
and she got it .

at age 16, with more chances of getting what i want in life, i think i should set targets for my after secondary school life.
well, that's mainly what mdm choy talked to us about .
i want to go into an accountancy course, or enter a jc .
but it's so difficult, so unachievable.
accountancy requires at most eleven points .
gosh ):
with my current standard, i don't think i can do it.

and JC is even worse.
like 9 points? ohmygosh .

i must work hard, i must persevere and not slacken .
must do all my homework.
must pay attention in class.
must not sms in class .
must not sleep in class.
must score at least 80% of all tests (OMG)

had to go to this hdb block and tell all the residents about this collection of free emergency bags haha .

and sell tickets for this satay night.

was really tiring, cause had to go back a second time for all those residents who didnt answer the door =/

at the end of it i had a splitting headache and was really giddy, but it was fun.

really learnt alot about handling stress, when the residents listen to you talk, and it's you alone, no one else to help you.

also, some residents were really rude to me too =/

but well. learnt alot about the real world, and had to treat them nicely .

about my favourite topic !!
PERSEVERANCE .
wellllll ,
on thursday, i stayed back after school to participate in outram sec's CSI as a volunteer.
it was super fun, at first.
i was one of the five suspects for a 'murder"
yep, and 'my' name was Lisa McCaffaney (i think that's how it's spelled)
isn't it such a pretty name ?
haha.
ohwell .
then all the sec 3 students, forming 45 groups had t come to find all 5 of the suspects and get a thumbprint and a footprint for analysis .
well. the thumbprint was okay .
i had to press my finger down on an inkpad, and after that it was very hard to clean it off.
it took like two days for the ink to fade off haha .
but, the footprint thing was horrible.
I TRIED pressing my feet down .
but couldnt get the mark .
so i had to resort to lifting my legs 90 degrees and stamping down .
it hurt . alot .
and, i had to do it for 45 groups .
well .
many times i felt like giving up.
cause after one *boom!* it hurt like crazy .
and many groups came together at one go.
i felt like just asking them to press down my leg for the mark you know =/
but i persevered, and i completed all 45 groups yay .
:D i didnt get any reward for doing that, but it was fun and fulfilling .

am going for cip tmr !

yes lydia, i forced you into blogging.
teamwork you know !
haha, (:
ohwell .
since lydia has blogged about her cip, i shall blog about MY cip .
:D we were doing different stuff ! : D
so yeah .
as i mentioned long time ago, im doing this energy audit thing .
i had to leave pretty early, like 30mins after i reached delta avenue.
and yes, i went to the same blocks as lydia LOL.
i only managed to audit one house, cause got turned down quite many times.
really felt like giving up too, but pressed on.
well. it was kind of fun.
i learnt how to deal with my nervousness, and kept talking to the woman at the door, while my partner did calculations. so fun !! cant wait for next CIP .
and i left v.v early, to go to woodlands.
my cca teacher was very nice, gave the two of us money to cab AND eat.
:D but once i got there, my heart started to pump rapidly haha.
cause, i was really really terrified.
i havent practiced at all. i don even know how to hold the flag!!
but the person beside me from 45th company taught me a little.
(: thanks sarah giam !
and i was like panicking, and it was she who got me to calm down and stuff.
thankyou, i really appreciate it haha.
in the end, it turned out okay, and i didnt mess up anything .
thank God !
lesson learnt : always take the first step ; don be afraid to try .

this is lydia again!! im here to blog about my cip today. as usual, got forced into this. might as well make a good job of it!! well, my cip was giving out brochures about recycling, about collecting the citizens' newspapers. went to delta avenue, hahas. it was quite fun, but tiring too. i learnt a really important value ; perseverance. well, together with my group, i had to knock on doors, and wait for citizens to open the door, then explain to the citizens. i tried many times, and only a few citizens opened the door. i was getting kind of discouraged, and i so wanted to just put the brochure through their door and walk off without explaining . i learnt many lessons today, for example, confidence in talking to strangers. after awhile, i overcame my shyness and started talking to the citizens. it was a really fun and enriching experience. left cip around 12PM and went back to school and went woodlands from there to awards ceremony. outram secondary got silver!!! very happy!!! and the brigade head commissioner of primary schools got an award, for contributing 40 years in GB!! can you believe it ?? it takes so much dedication and perseverance. i think i should really learn from her and dedicate myself to gb and not skip meetings, hahas.

hello my name is lydia!! this is my first time blogging. i feel very uncomfortable, because i got forced into this by stephanie. hahas. she said "everyone must blog!!!! otherwise like have no teamwork. we're supposed to work together as a team you know you know!". sounds like my grandmother. i duno what to blog about actually, stephanie told me to blog about not feeling confident about blogging. seriously! i have no idea what to blog about. now i understand how stephanie feels, having to come up with so many entries mostly on her own. okayyy...positive thinking is some attitude i hardly have. when stephanie told me to blog, i was like 'cannot!! very hard !!' . stephanie was like 'easy!'. and i was like 'cannot, cannot, cannot!' all the way. for those who knows me, im not really the type to blog ): so, my first attempt not bad right? encourage me please! blogging not bad what, quite easy now that i've tried! i have to blog about CIP tmr also, because stephanie is leaving very early for her flag-bearer thing and cant experience much. though i really dislike blogging, i must do it, and i believe i can do it :D

i think my attitude is getting wayyy bad .
like today.
i got chosen to be the flag-bearer thing for awards ceremony tmr, and seriously, i dont want to .
i'll have to leave CIP veryvery early, like one hour after the start . i heard the flag is pretty heavy too, and i don't even want to try carrying it, made up my mind that i'll collapse upon hoisting it up.

man =/ since when have i turned into such a slacker D:
looking on the bright side ! (:
ms lau is going to receive the award on GB 67th company's behalf .
SILVER award ! kind of proud :D
okay im like bragging already, haha .
i guess it's a pretty new experience being the flag bearer :D
i'll get to meet girls from other companies too !
who knows, i may even get to meet the syf girls from last year's contingent !
okay! i cant wait for tmr ! : D
i hope i don fall sick suddenly or whatsoever :D

oh, and another piece of good news !
my dad bought a laptop ! :D
and we actually quarreled a little yesterday =/
cause of my handphone being spoilt .
then he shouted ' don't ask me for a new handphone or laptop! '
and i shouted back 'FINE!'
then when i was in school today, he called me to tell me that he bought me a laptop and will be sharing with me .
awwww, so sweet :D

4april09 is CIP energy audit .
we're supposed to go houses and help them analyse their utilities bill and stuff .
im so looking forward, even though im really shy about entering people's houses and helping them check the usage of electricity .

advantages of going cip :

• bond with group members .
• earn CIP hours .
• get a new experience .
• learn how to calculate electricity usage.

disadvantages of going cip :
veryy hot and sweaty (zzzzzzzzz)

okay the disadvantage is sooo redundant. i cant wait i cant wait i cant wait !
why must there be awards ceremony on saturday ):
gotta leave CIP early and go back school .
): so sad can, sigh .

PERSEVERANCE

last post for this morning i guess *yawns*
stomach pain almost gone, thank God !
*thank God for my mum who came running into my room when i called her on my hp at an unearthly hour :D

seriously wanted to skip school ):
i woke up at like 3 plus and rolled on my bed non-stop, stomach was really killing me.
my first thought was 'yay ! i can skip school !'
well yeah. that's not the correct attitude to have bytheway .
im not perfect =/
next moment, i thought about this blog.
thinking about how im supposed to set an example with my life.
then i thought ' i MUST drag myself to school, O levels this year. i could miss alot of work if i miss just one day of school ): '
i remember skipping one day of school last year cause of friendship problems; i really didnt want to face my friends cause i was really afraid i'll break down.
but i'll definitely not skip at all this year. it's a crucial year. (:

to those people who are reading these 3 entries i've blogged for today morning, thanks for your support to this blog yeah ! :D
P.S. changed blogskin, hope you people don't get shocked haha.
must persevere alright , (:

BUILDING GOOD FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS (II)

hello. this is in link to building good family relationships. i don have any more points to make, but it's my personal experience (:

lately, i've been sleeping pretty late. like 2 days ago, i slept at 1230, cause i was trying to rush out my homework. which parent doesn't want their own child to work hard and obtain good results? my father is definitely an exception .

i was like telling him ' i want to do finish my homework first, i'll sleep by time .
then he was like ' dont do. so late alr. who ask you dont want do earlier. go school tomorrow do.'
i replied ' i'll definitely wake up late tmr, please, let me finish first?'

he kept quiet and left the room. just when i thought i was going to get peace and quiet, and be able to concentrate on my homework, he started playing music. it was like those opera chinese music ._. well yeah. you all know that teenagers usually don appreciate that kind of music right? i don't. but i was trying to control my temper and not flare up at him. he's sooo not understanding ):

so i took my chinese compo book and went to the kitchen, where the music wasnt so loud there. but he increased the volume of his phone's music player, and walked to the kitchen and left his phone there. i was so tempted to shout and scream you know, D: it was CHINESE homework somemore. i really need to focus alot on my chinese, otherwise i wouldnt be able to get one word on the piece of paper. my chinese is that pathetic. and well, yeah. he changed the music. to guo mei mei's ' kan jian zhang lang, wo bu pa bu pa' . so outdated =/

P.S. im not trying to be rascist, so i'll translate. it means 'when i see cockroaches, im not scared'. um, yeah .

back to topic :O
sooo. it's very obvious he was deliberately doing that to annoy me. i grabbed my compo book and ran back to my room and tried to rush out the rest of my compo. i was really tired and really annoyed by then. ):

he walked back into my room and stood there for five mins, playing the music. it was only when my tears started to fall that he went off. seriously, shheeesh ):

well. i guess he does that cause he wants me to give up and stop doing, to do tomorrow, and to make me learn a lesson : to not leave my homework so late.

sigh, thank God i managed to control my temper. otherwise i would really make things awkward at home and put my mom in a predicament .

HAPPY APRIL'S FOOL DAY ! :D

the time now is 4.30AM . i wonder if it's a joke. i woke up with a huge stomachache =/ ohwell .
oh, and bytheway, im not addicted to the internet. i just cant fall asleep haha , (:

CONFIDENCE
sometimes, i really feel very usless. like 2 days ago, during maths, my class was in a riot. the teacher was trying to teach. i was trying to listen. but, she couldnt teach with so many people not focusing and making noise. besides, im the class chairman. im supposed to keep the class quiet and stuff . but what was i doing ? sitting on my seat, trying to control my temper, not wanting to shout. im the third chairman since january 2009. and the other 2 ex-chairmen have stepped down. so i approached my teacher yesterday, asking for permission to step down, telling her i fail to control the class, my classmates hate me, im suffering from severe stress. but she refused. ): sigh .

well. gotta take it in my stride and life goes on (:
